ALS Hiroo Summer Programme

July 25th 2022 – August 30th 2022

Outside students price: 17,600 Yen per day (8:30am – 3pm) (All inclusive) 
After school: 6,600 Yen per day(3pm-5pm)

This year’s summer program theme is “Cultures around the world”. We hope to encourage cultural diversity and teach our students to start to appreciate different cultures around the world. This program features our specialist teachers to help teach various expressions of culture through art, language, gym, and foods. We also plan to have field trips so that our students can enjoy the beautiful Japanese summer weather.

As our world becomes more globalized, an international mindset and cultural understanding is a life-long skill that will give our students a head-start in their desired academic and professional path.

Please apply as soon as possible. Our Summer programme attendance is based on a first-come first-serve basis.

After School Programme

After-School at ALS Hiroo

ALS Hiroo is a bilingual school in the heart Hiroo. Located at Hiroo Plaza, we offer a new After-School program starting from April 2022. Our After school Programme focuses on a bilingual education through English lessons taught by native English speakers. All of our classrooms are also accompanied by Native Japanese teachers with Japanese children’s care liceneses ready to support your child’s Japanese language needs.

In the Afternoon, we offer an array of different Specialist classes featuring Art, Social studies, Drama, Debate, and Science. Our specialist teachers come from different diverse backgrounds and prepare personalized lessons to adapt to the interests of our students and the changing environment around us. Come spend an afternoon and experience our well-renowned Poppins Active Learning Specialist program“.

Rolling Admissions – students for current Spring semester

ALS Hiroo Billingual School

Poppins Active Learning School Hiroo (ALS Hiroo) is a newly opened preschool (childcare facility) for children aged 0-6.

We offer an original curriculum that is a cross between Poppins’ unique “edu-care” education and bilingual education in English and Japanese. At Poppins, we focus on bringing out children’s natural talents and creativity.

Each class has a native English teacher and Japanese teacher with a licenses in children’s care. Having the support of both a native English and Japanese teacher, we hope to inspire our students to learn not only in English but also in Japanese. Our school also offers “Specialist classes” in the morning and afternoon. We invite top-notch teachers ranging from piano concertist to dancers to gymnastics medalist to teach our personalized lessons everyday.

Open admissions

Our sister schools, Poppins Active Learning International School and Poppins Active Learning School Roppongi, are both very popular and are nearing capacity. ALS Hiroo hopes to be a bridge to help ease your children’s future in Japan and abroad by being billingual and multi-cultural.

We currently have openings at the Hiroo School for the Explorers(1-2 years old), Adventurers(3-4 years old), and Pinoeers Class(5-6 years old). However, the Explorers class(1-2 years old) is filling up quickly, so please reserve a spot for your child’s early education as soon as possible.

Experience Our Bilingual Programme

Active Learning School Hiroo (ALS Hiroo), which opened in February 2022, will hold a trial session at Azalea Fair. Our both sister schools, Active Learning School Roppongi Midtown and Poppins Active Learning International School Ebisu are popular for their expertly designed active learning programs and authentic phonics-based English language education.
ALS Hiroo is also committed to supporting the healthy development of children by providing them with first-class, authentic English language education. At this year’s Azalea Fair, for only 4,000 yen (tax included) for two hours, you can have an authentic English lesson taught by an expert and using Jolly phonics. We will provide you with a meaningful time through a bilingual school experience.

◆April 22nd(FRI)
Ms. Mioko Mochizuki Brock
After graduating from the Massachusetts College of Art, she spent 10 years working in design in New York City. Since then, she has been developing art projects.
The activity of the day will be collecting the shapes of the body!
Face, hands, arms, torso, legs, feet… As you draw various body shapes on paper, various animals and landscapes will come to mind.
Let’s use our whole body and imagination to experience the fun of “abstract painting” that we have never painted before!

◆April 23rd (SAT)
Mr. Suguru Wakayama
Former Japanese national gymnast.
Three-times winner of All Japan Gymnastics competition and seven-year of working experience at the KONAMI Gymnastics Club before becoming representative of Spo-Mic GYM.
The activity of the day will include forward rolls and other rotational exercises on the mats, and hanging and upside down on the bars.
Gymnastics apparatus will be used for basic exercises and step-by-step practice for each age group.

◆April 24th (SUN)
Ms. Sayaka Thundercliff
Part-time instructor at Tamagawa University, Faculty of Art, Kindergarten, and Tokyo Kasei University. Studied at Laban Center London, England, and has been a choreographer and dancer in the dance company Synapse since 2001.
The activity of the day is the art of pointillism, pointillism is a painting technique in which countless tiny dots of color are layered on top of each other.
Come rediscover the world through the science of color and light!

Spring Programme

ALS Hiroo is having a Spring Programme from March 22nd to March 29th. Feel free to join us for a memorable spring.

Spring Programme★ March 22nd – 29th (1 day minimum)

“Bring on Spring”, come help us welcome spring! We plan to celebrate spring through traditional Japanese events such as “Hanami party”, and western events such as “Easter scavenger hunt”. Every day we create different arts and crafts in English.
